Lakeside Golf Club
About
Named after the bordering lake that the course overlooks, Lakeside Golf Club takes full advantage of the natural landscape of rolling hills and live oaks. Water comes into play on nearly every hole on the course. Streams and dry creek beds dot the course, creating challenges on several holes. The golf course also features undulating greens and narrow landing areas. Designed to provide a formidable test for any golfer, Lakeside Golf Club demands accuracy in addition to careful strategy. One of the most notable difficult holes on the golf course is the par-5 12th, which requires an approach shot over water to a well bunkered green.

Nice 18 hole course
Course is very scenic. The grounds are well kept. Would return again to play the course anytime.
Good budget golf
Played Sunday afternoon no waiting on tee boxes as we played at our own pace. Fairways were full of crabgrass which was disappointing but good course if your on a budget and layout is not bad from the tips.
Better than expected
After reading some of the negative reviews, I was hesitant to play here, but it turned out to be better than expected. The greens were okay and faster than I expected. If you miss the fairway, there's a chance you'll end up playing off of rocks instead of grass or dirt. There are some holes that have OB between fairways, which I always hate, but I liked the course overall.
Won't Play it Again.
Most greens were as hard as concrete. I had Hi-Lob shots land in the middle of the green and still roll off. Some greens had large brown areas, and one had bare dirt patches.
Fairways were not much better than the rough. Impossible to take a divot without your club getting stuck in the hard ground, if you could take a divot in the first place.
Only if your Golfing on a budget
The staff was courteous and although we did not eat at the 19 th hole the food did look and smell good. The club house was definitely old and dated and in need of some major upgrades. The corse itself was a bit challenging more due it's poor tee box and fairway conditions than the actual layout. I'm just a beginning player but having played at about a dozen courses in San Antonio and Austin I can say that this course needs some major grounds keeping work. Fairways are mostly crab grass and weeds but they were mowed down well. The greens were fast and had some slight damage to a couple. The cart paths are almost non existent as the asphalt is deteriorating. For the money with a discount it wasn't a bad value.
bargain course to test your course management skills
On july 4 holiday and saw batgsin for $15 round. Took girlfriend out do she could practice as well and teach her course etiquette and course management. Had a relaxed outing very friendly staff and members. Back nine in better condition than front nine. Lake can br seen in dustance but no holes surrounding the lake. Some holes have risk reward shots. #12 par 5 reachable water hazard but lay up 3 wood leaves 190 - 210 shot left into small green. #13 and 14 reachable par 4 holes but covered up hill trees.
Overall good value worhj the golfnow price hotdeal to enjoy a round and work on iron game
Fun but Greens need work
This is a fun course to play. It has some intentional challenges but the condition of many of the greens makes putting even more challenging: too many with "bald" spots.
A steal
Here is the deal. If you want a golf course that is in perfect condition, this is not it.
I had 3 guys that had not been out golfing in 4+ years and just wanted to "play". For $12 each, we played 18 holes.
The track is fun with narrow fairways and very aggressive elevation changes. The greens are unforgiving.
The weeds have overtaken the fairways and the greens are not going to be in great shape but for $.66 per hole - move on if you want more.
I will be back at some point.
good value for the money
played at a great pace and course was in good shape; in fact, some of the greens were even much better than when i played there a couple of months ago.
Great staff
The friendliness of the staff is what impressed me the most!
Great course!
I played 36 holes alone, in a cheap and quiet field course.
The green are quick and in great condition, and the fairways are well maintained.
The design is awesome and some views of the lake are nice.
The staff is friendly and the pace of play is fantastic.
This course has a great value, I will be back!
Needs work..
This was my first time playing this course. I booked it through GolfNow. The course was not in great shape. The Greens had huge brown patches and I couldn't tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. The course definitely needs some work in terms of grass, weeds, etc. I'd definitely be interested in playing again but the course needs some work.
if you're an intermediate player who plays about once per month, this course should be plenty good enough and challenging enough for you and it's at least in average shape.
fun round
I really enjoyed my round. Course has a few rough greens but it is obviously getting better.
Good Value for Money
Course was good value for discounted green fee. Played fast because we were able to bounce around. Some challenging holes requiring non traditional club selection. Greens improving.
pretty course and inexpensive
good value for the money and nice scenery and a convenient location
Duffer
Beautiful scenery in a beautiful location. Challenging layout. It's a shame the course is behind as far as condition
Long drive in, cheap, in ok shape
Booked a twosome for 30 for both of us with taxes and cart at 10am. Cheapest I've found for this time of day. Had a first timer with me and the groups behind us were patient. Greens are coming back some bare black spots on some but most are pretty decent. Had some good hole placement this day and I needed to practice my short game and putting. I will be visiting this course again at the noon price hit deal of 9 dollhairs.
don't know what you meant about the groups behind you were patient, but, if you were holding them up, it's proper golf etiquette and should be common sense to ask them to play thru, especially if you had a beginner
you're an intermediate player who only plays once per month and you don't think this course was challenging enough for you? you're expectations are too high and not justified
