The majestic, rolling hills and towering oaks of the scenic Texas Hill Country serve as a backdrop to the Flying L Guest Ranch Golf Course & Resort. The course begins with a challenging front nine with numerous doglegs and uneven lies at every turn. The signature hole, the par-3 seventh, features a green that is surrounded by water on three sides and a spectacular view of the mountains. Flying L Guest Ranch Golf Course & Resort's back nine is less challenging than the front nine, but it has a few interesting surprises in store. It has a more classic and open layout than the front nine, but there are four holes with water and several strategically placed bunkers to watch out for. Flying L also features a two-tiered driving range with a chipping and putting green.

I had played here a long time ago and remebered it was a pretty setting but nothing spectacular as far as the conditions. Played recently and what an improvement. Tee boxes were in great conditions. All fairways were green soft and very well maintained. The bunkers had plenty of soft sand and greens were smooth and soft. What a great place to play. The course can be challenging and fairways narrow at times. Hole 13 is stunning and breath taking. The drive from san antonio was easy w no traffic and scenic. Will come back for sure as it is worth the "escape" to this gem.
