I have been playing the course since 1974 and love the course. They are making many improvements and yes they are needed but for the price well worth it. You will not find a better course for the money! Rental clubs?? Who goes TDY or to a golf course without their own gold clubs??? Play the course with your own golf clubs and the round of play will be well worth it and the people there are very friendly. Food the BX is right down the road!

In July/August of 1962, Basic Training, Flight would be sent to course to weed the greens! A welcome relief from afternoon heat. My Drill Instructor would give me pass the play the course in exchange for helping do clerical work. Don't remember much about the course except "BEWARE OF SNAKE SIGNS. My son & grandson did basic training @ Lackland but weren't as lucky as me!

Played the course for the first time last weekend. Great pace of play. Needed a set of women's rental clubs. The clubs were brand new and still had the plastic on them.

The price was right, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Try their steak dinner on Thursday evenings. Your steak is cooked to order on the outdoor grill.

Overpriced. Rental clubs were higher priced ($13 for cheapest set vs. $7 at two other AF base courses recently played) than other AF courses played, and definitely not the same caliber - Drivers dented and had actual slices/holes in the metal. Could have bought a better set for the price of renting x3. Played at Dyess with better clubs for half the cost a week before. Thanks to golfers paired with (Rob & Ryan), able to use decent clubs for some shots. Would not recommend unless you have own clubs and out for fun and beer.

Course is decent and in pretty good condition.

Military go to Ft. Sam Houston. Better deal

The new greens keeper has made great improvements to the course. It is as good as the best public course in San Antonio.
