Riverside Municipal G.C., which dates back to the 1930s, was designed to offer spectacular views of the San Antonio skyline. As its name implies, the San Antonio River runs alongside many of the holes at Riverside. Nearly all of the lies are uneven but the golf course is still easy to walk. The layout's front nine is covered with towering pecan trees that require straight, accurate drives but the back nine has more opportunities to grip it and rip it. Water naturally comes into play throughout Riverside Municipal Golf Course, most prominently on the back nine.

Played with father-in-law today. We had a fantastic time. I play competitive golf, but today was about kicking back, smoking cigars and drinking cold beer. The staff was great. The course played well especially after a few days of rain. Greens were running fast but held well. Came up on a slow group after #4 but just went around them. Shot +2 on the front then the beer kicked in. Cold front moved in that morning after a hot and humid summer. What a fantastic day!

Had a foursome in front of us playing three holes behind group in front of them after 5 holes. Called club house and asked for a Marshal none can. Took two half hours for nine holes. At ten they still did not let us play thru We drove around them and went to eleven and played back nine in 1hr 45 minutes I think the foursome was on 14 when we finished.
This typical of new City run courses they are to cheap to get Marshals and play drive all over course, done fix traps or divots. Glad my punch card ran out.
