Riverside dates back to the 1930s and its historical origins go back even further when it served as the site of Roosevelt's Rough Riders' preparation before the Spanish American War. The nine-hole course is a straightforward layout with no water and very little bunkering. The longest hole is only 130 yards, making the course ideal for beginners and juniors. The golf course is an enjoyable walk, seeing as walking is mandatory. The course is not challenging for more advanced players but it does provide a good warm-up before Riverside Municipal Golf Course's 18-hole course.
