Formerly a private club, Windcrest Golf Club is now open for public play. This nine-hole course is tight in some spots with a traditional layout that calls for a variety of different shots. Tree-lined fairways and elevated greens protected by bunkers require sharp short game skills and accurate placement off the tees. Water hazards also come into play on two holes. With four sets of tees, the golf course is perfect for juniors and beginners who want some practice or avid golfers wanting a quick round. One of the most appealing things about Windcrest Golf Club is that it doesn't get especially crowded on weekends, meaning tee times are rarely required.

Good course to pratice your short game -- narrow fairways and small greens. I like the fact that you can pick your club and take dead aim on the par three's. The greens are tough to read but after a few rounds become easier to manage. That's not saying your going to make a lot of birdies here, but at least you have a chance.

I would rate the course itself higher. It is in very good condition, especially for how little rain we have had. The course has had a lot of work and plays well regardless of skill level. And the price is right. BUT the grilling we got about bringing our own water on the course was quite offensive. And our bags were searched for alcohol (none of us had any). But we did bring our own water, and a couple of us had a sports drink when we came on the course. The restaurant manager stopped us twice to chew us out. I had played the course before several times, but my three companions were new to Windcrest. I don't think they will be back. it was overall very disappointing. Not because of the course, but because of the hospitality.

Course is in wonderful condition and is a beautiful little course. Staff was very friendly. Took only 3 hours for our foursome to play 18.
