Windcrest Golf Club
About
Formerly a private club, Windcrest Golf Club is now open for public play. This nine-hole course is tight in some spots with a traditional layout that calls for a variety of different shots. Tree-lined fairways and elevated greens protected by bunkers require sharp short game skills and accurate placement off the tees. Water hazards also come into play on two holes. With four sets of tees, the golf course is perfect for juniors and beginners who want some practice or avid golfers wanting a quick round. One of the most appealing things about Windcrest Golf Club is that it doesn't get especially crowded on weekends, meaning tee times are rarely required.

food service review
the food service and bar a way over priced for the facuilities. $1.75 for a sniker bar???? No oj or other jucies in bottles. set up like a high class night club but does not meet those kinds of standards.
windcrest review
Course is good for the locals in Windcrest. Good course for beginners and kids. Fairways are narrow, greens were in fair shape.
Especially good for couples.
Short 9 hole golf course. Very level. Tree lined fairways. Management was very friendly. This is a private club with member privileges. Members may be inserted ahead of non member groups during play.
NIce Course
This was a nice 9 hole course. The greens were good and had some challenge to them. Pace of play was great. There are alot of trees and i found most of them.
Mature trees all over the course.
Great course to play at a fast pace. A good mix of easy and challenging holes.
Very good time
Other than the weather being a lil cold my experience was great. The course was very fun for the price and the greens were in great shape. After my first nine I went to the bar to grab a beer or two and the staff dulce and Miriam were very nice ladies. I would definitely be coming back very soon as I had a very good time.
A Quick Walk in the Woods
This is a nifty little nine hole course close in to the NE San Antonio neighborhood.
This layout is fifty years old and used to be a private club.
The interior of the clubhouse is unchanged from the 1960s.
The course is short with several par 3s less than 100 yards,
there's one par five, #9 and the par fours are all pretty short.
The pace of play is quick because of the simple design and relatively easy fairways. Most holes are tree-lined, and that creates a problem in the Fall and Winter, because there are more leaves here than any other course in this area. The leaves create problem with finding your ball, and roll on the fairways.
There are some very wet areas throughout the course because
of enthusiastic watering.
The greens are very smooth and quite fast for the off season.
The fairways and tees are not exactly pristine, and need some work.
The manager here is not a big fan of Golf Now, he feels that
he's losing essential revenue on weekends.
Most of the folks here are friendly. It's a nice and quick way to play 9 holes. But, repeating the same holes is not my thing.
Super well kept course for the money
I love playing a round at Windcrest Golf Club. First off the staff is very friendly and does a great job at educating the customer if it's there first time and keeps track of the pace of play so each golfer is taken care of with great service. The fairways and greens are always in the best shape. Smooth fairways and soft fast greens. The maintenance crew does a superb job keep the course in awesome shape. I've played here 3 times and each time had been a great experience. Definitely one if San Antonio's best kept secret golf course.
very nice greens and fairways!
A hidden gem in the San Antonio area. Recommend this course highly. Everyone is friendly and prompt.
Challenging Small Course
Short course but challenging. You must keep it in the fairway or you will surely be in trouble. Trees are on each side of most fairways. Fairways are nice. Greens are in good shape, but slow.
A neighborhood executive style course.
Terrific value for the cost. Greens were in good condition and there were a couple of really challenging par 4s. Staff super friendly.
Nice course
Will play again, enjoyed the course. Recommended to friends.
Nice course
This is a nice course but is only 9 holes, which we did not notice before booking the tee time. But for a 9 hole course, it was nice. It is very right, we were told it is only 35 acres so the holes are tight with only one par five being the 9th hole. But for the price we payed ($9.99) for 18 holes and cart through golfnow I would return.
Course is comfortable and fun to play.
golf now is easy to use and the course accepted the certificate from them readily not a problem one. the four of us enjoyed the course.
Narrow demanding fairways
Well maintained greens that make putting a pleasure.
Nice Course
The course was nice and greens and fairways was in great shape but only thing i didn't like was it's a 9 hole course that you play twice.
Played Saturday mid morning after a heavy Friday rain storm. Course was great, a few wet spots but no hindrance to our game.
Nice little neighborhood course tucked away. Great bang for the Hot Deal buck! Only 9 holes, play them twice and it's nice.
Great shape...any level of player will enjoy...and, you can play 18 holes in less than 3 hours!
It's a 9-hole course with four sets of tees. It'll give you as much challenge as you want. It is fair and yet challenging. It's short...but, you still have to execute the shot!
Great GREENS
This course is great to practice your iron play. The course is relatively short and has many trees. The greens were great. I had true rolls and they are a little slow. The 8th hole is fun, because you can play it normally or cut the corner and have a very short 2nd shot. A lot of fun to play.
Great 9 holer
This is a short course, 4780 yards, par 68, playing the 9 holes twice from two different sets of tees. Fairways and greens are in beautiful condition. Tight course, requires thought on club selection. The course could be played without ever touching a wood. Greens are to be aerated next week (9/9/2013) , which is good for them, but a real shame since they are perfect right now.
