Starcke Park Golf Course
About
Situated on the north bank of the Guadalupe River, Starcke Park Golf Course (formerly known as Max Starcke Park Golf Course) stretches across a scenic landscape of century-old pecan trees. The golf course is easy to walk being of mostly flat terrain. Trees line the fairways, making accurate tee shots top priority in scoring well. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course and water hazards coming into play on a few holes for added challenge. Starcke Park Golf Course’s signature hole is the par-4 finishing hole, which requires a tee shot down a narrow fairway bordered by pecan trees on the right and a pond on the left. Considered one of the best municipal golf courses in Texas, Max Starcke Park G.C. also offers a practice and putting green and driving range.

Great course
Great course that is in good shape. Greens could use a little attention but overall good experience.
Greens need some help.
The course overall is in good shape. The greens need help. Some are hard with very little grass. Others are ok.
Great Course
This was an extremely forgiving course. For an exceptional price. I would definitely play this course again.
One of the best conditioned Municipal courses I've played.
For years and years I've blown the doors off this place and played pretty much every other course in the area. I don't know why !
Its visually appealing from the road as you drive by with large pecan trees, lush green grass, and several nice looking greens are visible as well.
My partner had arrived before me so he picked me up at my car with a cart all ready to go....
We made our way over to the first tee area and awaited our tee time. We talked with several very friendly people including a staff member, we watched the couple of people on the range, until we teed off.
first hole I went left into the 9th fairway and my partner went right, you learn fast these pecan trees play a role !!!
Recovered well but 3 putted like a rookie and missed an easy par putt. Luckily that didn't set the tone to bad, and overall I played a decent round.
The course has a nice layout, fun holes, challenging holes, and a few that were being worked on that will add to the beauty and challenge of the course. Be prepared to deal with trees in some way though, if your an army golfer and play left ,right, left style golf, this course is going to be a challenge. Greens run smooth, perhaps a tad slow, fairways are smooth and without damage that affects play.
Overall I give it 3.5 of 5 stars. ( 4 star is the top score I can give a Municipal course, 5 stars reserved for those above and beyond courses.)
Forced to retire by Corporate America
Enjoyed my time with my son that drove south over an hour to play here. Paired up with a couple of brothers that held their own. Great outing for the money, a true value in price and especially the comradery. I'm searching for the best retirement spots around me.
Fun Round
Easy check in and payment terms, and got right on the course at our scheduled tee time. Golf proshop staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Have played this course of a number of times, and each time I like it a little better. Considering the winter we had, the course is in very good shape right now and continues to get better as we get into spring time.
It is a city own and operated park/course. You can tell that they are actually investing quite a bit of money in the maintenance and upgrades to the course, and I am very impressed with direction it is headed. It is neither difficult nor easy, it just seems to be a fair golf course. All level players should enjoy this golf course, and I look forward to playing it frequently this year.
Starcke
Beside the foursome in front of my twosome, who should’ve let us play through on number two and never ended up doing so, it was fine.
Good course
This has always been a good course and it looks like they are putting money into the water features. Hopefully it makes it even better
