Nine Hole at Riverside Municipal Golf Course
About
Located just south of downtown, Riverside Municipal Golf Course is a public facility that offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole, par-3 course. Riverside dates back to the 1930s and its historical origins go back even further when it served as the site of Roosevelt's Rough Riders' preparation before the Spanish American War. The nine-hole course is a straightforward layout with no water and very little bunkering. The longest hole is only 130 yards, making the course ideal for beginners and juniors. The golf course is an enjoyable walk, seeing as walking is mandatory. The course is not challenging for more advanced players but it does provide a good warm-up before Riverside Municipal Golf Course's 18-hole course.

Really nice for such an older course
Greens were well maintained and the fairways defined. Plenty of parking and the clubhouse clean.
Good value
For the great Golf Now price, a nice place to play.
This course keeps improving
My favorite San Antonio Muni. Can't really get into any trouble off the tees and the greens are in great shape. Love the layout. They have done a great job with the improvements at this course and the condition seems to get better each time I go.
Favorite SA muni
Love this course! SA golf trail has done a great job since taking over the city courses, but Riverside is my favorite. Not too long, so plays well to my game. First course to break 100 on (99), normally shoot around 110-115.
Well groomed for a municipal course
For the price you can't honestly do much better than this. I expected a decent course, but was very surprised to find a well maintained course. Staff was excellent.
This course is excellent for the average player.
The course layout allows the average player to remain in the fairways for the most part.
Worth the drive from one end of SA to the other end.
I swore off this course some 2 yrs ago, but the Golfnow offer was what sent me back. What ran me off was totally turned around. The course is in great!! condition and weekend golfer friendly. It was a pleasant experience that will send me back as soon as "the price is right".
A very quality golf course.
The layout of the course was very well done. Would have liked to seen a bit more water hazards throughout the course. Grounds were very nice and maintained.
good course. greens need some attention
Golf course plays very well tee to green. fairways are relatively plush and the rough is what u should expect from Bermuda grass, thick and knarly. Greens are the tough spot. as they are pretty large the longer putts proved very difficult to keep online. lack of any real "smooth" surface proved challenging. overall a good track with some fun shots. Just don't expect to break any putting records unless u have time travelled here from 1935!
