SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Challenging, Yet Fair Layout
I had a lot of fun playing this course, even though it has more doglegs than a kennel - there's a even variety of left-to-right and right-to-left holes with elevation changes and tight landing areas that make me want to play it again and again!
SILVERHORN is always a delight to play!
While we are in the middle of Spring, their crews are working hard to keep the course in the best shape possible shape. While we continue with spotty rain, the effects of an ongoing Drought has taken a toll on most of the courses here in San Antonio!
PERFECT WEATHER GREAT CONDITIONS =WONDERFUL DAY!
The title says it all! The course, the staff They were all marvelous! It was a great day!
Thank you!
SILVERHORN IS A MUST PLAY
Silverhorn is in great shape, good fairways, best greens in town. Some of the fairway fringe is bald and rocky. Nice carts but no GPS. No marshals to enforce pace of play. No water on course, practice range or in clubhouse (without asking for some from the grill). The serious golfer should not overlook this course.
Should have ranger on course to pick up pace of play
Not Worth the Money
While most of the course conditions were good, they were not good enough to warrant this price point. Additionally, the guy in the pro shop, Ron, should probably find a career which doesn't require that he interact with people, just a complete tool, barking orders through the loud speaker from his perch inside the shop. Used to play this course quite a bit, but would have to question my decision if I did so again.
Agreed....priced too high.
Nice Course in Good Shape
The course has a good layout and is in good shape even though there has been a drought in the area. The course was green from tee to green. They sanded the greens within the last few days, so they were really slow. Once the sand settles in, the greens will likely be very good.
The course is really firm right now and it is pretty tight. Our foursome had many shots run into trouble that we thought would finish in good shape. Overall, we really enjoyed the course and would play it again.
My comments were omitted. Mostly positive but some negative though factual. Please post complete player reviews as we are taking valuable time to submit.
