Northern Hills Golf Club

This is a very well-maintained course with plenty of challenges for most golfers. Staff were excellent. Greens were in great shape. Played on a Sunday, was grouped with a couple folks and had a very good time. Highly recommended. Getting it for $23 made it an absolute steal.

The course was in great condition the weather we are having. The course does have some easy and difficult holes to play. Overall all it was a great outing.

Course was very well maitained and in excellent shape for the end of July in South Texas. This was the first time at this course, and am looking forward to playing again. There are definitely quite a few holes that course knowledge pays off, but didn't hurt us too bad not knowing where we were supposed to play to. The fairways were nice and green, rough was cut but still penalizing if you were in it. The greens were really true, hard and fast, difficult to hold the green if you did not hit the right spots. We played in the afternoon so traffic wasn't too bad, we had no problems until we hit a 5-some on the back, but they let us play through on the second hole that we caught up to them, so it was not bad at all. All in all an excellent course for the money and am looking forward to hitting it up again soon.

the course was in great condition for the summer in texas. My wife loved the course and ranked it as her favorite in san antonio. the greens ran perfect and that is not easy here this time of year. I liked that even though it is not a long course they picked challlenging hole locations to somewhat offset this. all-around great time!

I played on a very hot day and got placed with a threesome. Pace of play was pretty good, but i usually play faster. The heat was difficult to handle. The course did not have a cart girl, and the water coolers were 3 to 4 holes apart. I wished they were 2 holes apart. Aside from that, it was great. Greens were country club fast, and in fine shape. The course is very well maintained. Distances to clear obstacles are hard to judge and are not noted on the hole plaques or on the scorecard, so you have to guess a bit. I enjoy the course and will go back.

Course is very well maintained. Staff is very friendly. This was my first time playing this course, and I'll definitely be back.

Nice layout, fun for all levels, and decent pricing makes this muni a must play.

I played Northern Hills with three friends, only one of whom had played there previously. We were pleased with the overall appearance of the course: the fairways and rough were green and mowed, the greens receptive, smooth and a little fast. The course was challenging without being difficult and provided some variety of holes, with the exception that there were no short par 3s. We thought it was a good value at $30. Overall a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon with friends.

This course was slightly challenging with some water and bunkers the avoid. The hazards really added some difficulty, forcing you to adjust your tee offs, long irons, and approaches. Overall you couldn't beat the price for the good golf... I paid 25 bucks for myself and a friend and we had a blast!

Some of the best greens in San Antonio. I can not give it a fair review cause I got paired up with some high handicaper and really slowed play. The fairways were real wet. Course needs properly drainage to deal with heavy rains. I will go back once it dries up a little.

This course is in good shape for the price you pay, which is very affordable. Perfect for the causal round where your friends can enjoy yourselves without the regret of paying a steep green fee. Has defined fairways, maintained greens, practice range/putting green and a throwback clubhouse/19th hole.

The course was ok but I was expecting more. I called ahead and asked about the greens. They said the course was in good condition but the greens had been sanded.

good shape, greens ready to be cut...easy fairways to hit, this courses strength is it's greens...so far they are a little slow but that may be seocndary to concern for the possibility of hot days ahead...with recent rains they could be a little more aggressive with the mower in my opinion

Slow play. 3 hours to play 11 holes. Why reserve a tee time when your sending foursomes out every 5 minutes. Cart died. Pro shop was not interested in slow play and only comment about cart was I should have called on cell phone for new cart. Will not be going back.

Biggest issue staff in the pro shop - maybe he was having a bad day-- gave the impression that because you got an online deal--
you are somehow less deserving to play there.

The course has some challenging holes. Greens are average. Pace of play was smooth, although a bit long.

Course is in great shape! Greens look superb and fairways are in great shape! Course is looking great for the summer.
